Sian
Sian is in her 3rd year at Ball State pursuing a degree in Elementary Education. This past semester she participated in a program called Schools Within the Context of Community (SCC for short) where the curriculum puts her in the classroom working directly with students much earlier than the traditional “student teaching” semester at the end of the Sr. year. Through this program, she was immersed within the local neighborhood and community, learning how to interact with community members and families to better provide for students in the classroom. She has a passion for understanding the persona and background of every student and looks forward to moving into a classroom of her own. She turned the big 2-1 this year and also got to be apart of the wedding as one of Meredith's bridesmaids. Another member of the family was added when Sian adopted a cat, Dr. Poe (or Poe for short). He now lives down at Naptown Retreat and enjoys playing outside and hunting mice in the barns for Marty.
Sian is very active in her sorority Alpha Omicron Pi and held the position of Vice President of Standards this past year. She was also awarded Outstanding Member of the Year for last year's involvement in the sisterhood.
